Perceptions and Violent Times (2019) [a two minute video]
'Perceptions And Violent Times' is a 3 layer video that is displaying 3 different persona's at the same time, creating a chaotic atmosphere, while still being able to understand each one when you focus on them. This was inspired by the norm of constant depiction of violence in media and constant negativity in online culture and the responses to either shy away from it and focus on superficial light entertainment or turning that morbidity into entertainment.
The News Persona looks objectively at the events in the world, and has to not put in any feelings or opinions into any of the reports they are saying, regardless of the violent real news that they have to announce.

The Innocence Persona, depicted on the right with their eyes wrapped in a bandage, is the embodiment of the saying “ignorance is bliss.” the representation of looking at the news with rose tinted glasses, and mentally blocking out the violence and to carry on with their day, focusing on light-hearted entertainment over any type of violence and the dark news.

The Violent Make-up Persona is the embodiment dry and morbid humour, especially focusing on internet culture. It is really easy to have access to constant dark news of; death, tragedy, social panic and paranoia, and even videos and images of serious to fatal injuries. These are a constant and easily accessible across the internet and they are using crude and violent jokes to make that darkness be more tolerable, by making it into entertainment.

The use of SFX-Makeup also indicates to a literal dark mask to shield against the emotional impact of the dark news they hear as they reduce the violence to just a joke.
Both the Dark and Innocence have cons as they are both avoiding the negative impact of violence in their own way. The Dark persona can be seen as insensitive, while the Innocence persona can be seen as turning a blind eye and ignoring the issues and violence.
However, they both have their own benefits to the individual on how they cope and process violence and thus bring a discussion to the notion of the response to and constant access to violence in media and how it can effect people's reactions.
